This role leads a team of HR business partners across colleges, schools, departments and research institutes (“University units”), acting as a strategic partner, champion of change and integration of HR initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role supports the development and implementation of HR business partnering strategy.


Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of Human Resource (HR) functions including all aspects of professional relations, employee benefits, compensation, employee involvement, practices, training, organizational change and development and communications for colleges, schools, centers and departments (units)
  • Consult with the unit heads to define roles and missions, design the organizational structure, and on organization effectiveness
  • Oversee the Faculty and Research Centre of Excellence teams to deliver critical HR framework, initiatives, policies and procedures aligned to support the Faculty & Research objectives
  • Responsible to drive the development and implementation of the HR Business Partnering in alignment with the overall University strategy and vision
  • Build strong working relationship as a trusted HR advisor with strong professional credibility and have strong understanding of the current and future business requirements with all stakeholders
  • Drive and influence the people aspects of organizational change partnering with the leadership team in reviewing the structure, processes, and improvement initiatives to drive organization transformation and effectiveness
  • Develop HR priorities to ensure plans are in place to manage talent retention and development over the short and longer term
  • Provide guidance and be mentor to HR Business Partners, accountable for Recruitment, Performance Management, Career Development and managing the skills and competency development
  • Work closely with respective HR Centers of Excellence in providing leadership to HR business partners and stakeholders across a range of functional areas including but not limited to Talent Management and Development, People Strategy, HR policies, processes and systems, employee engagement and relations
  • Provide professional advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment and rewards strategies, performance management, etc 

Qualifications

  • Degree, preferably with specialisation in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in HR Business Partnering
  • Experience in driving implementation of HR business partnering structure and/or change management
  • Good knowledge of Employment Act and Labor Laws would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel et.) and HR systems, ideally Workday.
