Sparesbox was founded in 2014 and has since rapidly grown to become the largest online auto parts store in Australia with 260,000+ customers. A new kind of auto parts retailer, Sparesbox is taking control of the digital space and empowering their customers to feel connected and engaged.

We are a newly formed product team looking for a creative UX/UI specialist who loves design and creating simple intuitive experiences that deliver real value to our user base. As the UI/UX designer, you will work closely with the Product and Growth team to ensure that design goals are achieved for Sparesbox as well as for our sister brand, AMX. This role will be reporting to our Chief Product and Growth Officer.


  • Work closely with the Product and Tech teams to translate concepts into user flows, wireframes and mock-ups that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Understand customer pain points through user research and identify design problems through UX best-practice methodologies
  • Make design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features
  • Taking a user-centred design approach by rapidly testing and iterating your designs
  • Analyse and synthesise data and user requirements to solve complex problems through understanding user behavior to increase product conversion rates
  • Research and showcase knowledge of industry’s latest best practice and technologies through your design solutions
  • Work across multiple brands (namely Sparesbox and AMX) to create shared design frameworks


  • Minimum of 2 years in a UX/UI design role
  • A portfolio which demonstrates expertise in web and mobile design, a modern aesthetic style, creative approaches to complex problems and attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Zeplin, Sketch and Invision
  • Ability to analyse and digest complex problems into simple frictionless experiences and workflows
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team while also being able to work independently
  • Solid understanding of frontend/backend constraints and the ability to work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to design and iterate concepts for intuitive user experiences
  • Ability to clearly communicate your ideas and design solutions to the team
  • Ability to create high-fidelity design assets such as icons and interface elements

  • Knowledge and/or experience with 4×4 accessories, performance and/or aftermarket parts
